Real professionals, real people, real partnerships

Human help is hard to find.

For many early and small enterprises, finding the right professionals to set your enterprise on track for growth and success can be prohibitively expensive. At the same time, many bread-and-butter financial services for business are being offered by apps and bots offering nothing more than cookie-cutter solutions that fail to protect your investments and deliver results.

We believe your success is too important to entrust to AI.

Blackbird offers scalable help from experienced strategic advisors to suit your needs. We do not place clients on retainers they cannot afford, nor do we demand our clients take services they do not require. We strive to offer advisory services in financial management, individual and business tax and compliance, and business strategy and operations, individually tailored to suit you and your actual business needs.

No two clients are alike, and every client we engage is our focus, our interest, and our partner in success.

About Brenna

Brenna Erford is a team-builder, business strategist, and CPA-eligible accountant with decades of experience in both private and nonprofit organizations of all sizes. Her background in organizational leadership, consulting, business operations, and strategic human resources have given her a sharp eye for finding the routes to achieve her clients’ goals within their means. Her native language is English but she is also happy to support clients who prefer to conduct business in her second languages, Spanish and German.

Entrepreneurial and mission-driven, Brenna brings financial, managerial, and operational expertise to creating systems-based methods for organizations: from measuring wins, to hiring and compensation, to creating key business processes, designing and implementing robust internal controls and managerial practices, and creating internal and external communications pipelines. She excels at creating actionable information ecosystems for boards and shareholders and building and managing relationships with external partners and vendors by instituting robust procurement and communication processes. She has built organizational capacity in public, private, and philanthropic organizations as a leader, recruiter, team motivator, and steward of values-driven organizational culture. She holds both a masters of public administration (MPA) and a MS in Accounting. She is CPA-eligible and currently pursuing licensure in her home state of Virginia.

From bread-and-butter tax and accounting services to overarching financial and operational support, Brenna is available to conceptualize, implement, and improve strategies that simplify, improve, and grow your enterprise.
